Andre Bohren + Conor Jacobson

February 9, 2020 • 4:00 p.m.
Wheeler Concert Hall, Casper College

Andre Bohren was born in New Orleans, but grew up traveling across the country, following his father Spencer Bohren's tour schedule. When Andre was twelve, the family finally settled in Wyoming, and it was there he discovered a love of classical music. Four years later, under the tutelage of Dr. Janet Ahlquist, he would perform Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue" with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra.

Back in New Orleans, he studied for two years with Dr. John Murphy at Loyola University and founded the rock/funk band Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes in 2001, manning the drum and percussion chair. Andre performs with many artists around New Orleans.

In 2012 Andre began studying at the University of New Orleans with Dr. Robin Williams. Piano performance has taken him on solo tours across the country.

This concert is a musical reunion for Andre and Conor, having last played together while studying at Casper College in 2000-2001.

Born and raised in Wyoming, Conor Jacobson grew up on a farm near Pavillion. He began studying violin when he was four years old. Soon after and continuing through high school, with the support and encouragement of his family, he would make a weekly trip with his grandfather to Casper for violin lessons. He continued musical studies at Casper College and the University of Arizona before deciding to pursue his interests at the world renowned early music department of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, The Netherlands.

Conor will appear again on March 29 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in a solo recital of Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin by J. S. Bach.
