Award-winning composer and performer, Johnny B. redefines the solo piano show.

Classically trained but drawn toward jazz, rock, and boogie-woogie, he delights audiences with well-known and original melodies. Raised in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area, Johnny B. began piano in 1957. He played in numerous high school and college rock bands before heading east to the Berklee College of Music in 1979. After Boston, he put an acoustic piano in the back of a large step van and spent three years traveling the country as a street musician and pied piper in schools. After performing in all of the forty-eight contiguous states he headed north to Alaska. Today, he resides in Homer, Alaska.

Johnny B. was the music director and performer for the early 1990's national radio program, "The End of the Road" with Tom Bodett. He has performed throughout Alaska including at least thirty small towns and communities accessible only by small plane or boat. He continues performing throughout the summer months with weekly shows in Homer. He brings his performance to the Lower 48 during the Fall and Spring months.

His latest program titled "Rhythm of the North" has been presented in performing arts halls and festivals in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming.

"The Rhythm of the North" includes stunning videos, striking photography and hilarious stories complimented by his mastery of the 88 keys. The performance is high energy, moving, down to earth and fun. There is something for everyone in Johnny B.'s "Rhythm of the North."

Partial funding is from the Schneider and the Grace Amspoker Funds in Wyoming Community Foundation - Casper, the Wyoming Arts Council through the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wyoming State Legislature, and Natrona County School District No. 1.
