Set sail from Ireland and Scotland to America!

Irish and Scottish immigrants arrived in the New World with their music - songs that became some of America's best loved folk melodies. In America Bound, Golden Bough celebrates America's Celtic heritage with songs of travel, songs of life in the New World, and the American songs that evolved from their Celtic roots.

Margie Butler, Paul Espinoza, and Kathy Sierra perform lively melodies, humorous tunes, sea chanteys, soulful ballads, and rousing jigs and reels, plus favorite Irish-American songs sung by generations. The trio sings with three-part vocal harmony and performs on an array of instruments including Celtic harp, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, accordion, bodhran, and pennywhistle. Sing-along numbers included!

Rooted in the traditional music of the seven Celtic nations (Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, The Isle of Man, French Brittany and Spanish Galicia), Golden Bough has become a popular and in-demand group on both sides of the Atlantic. Since their formation in 1980, this trio of modern day minstrels has traveled great distances to numerous countries, to bring their music to enthusiastic folk fans the world over. Backing themselves on an array of acoustic instruments; Celtic harp, guitar, octave-mandolin, mandolin, accor-dion, violin, penny-whistle and bodhran, they blend their voices in the pristine harmonies that have become a Golden Bough trademark. To date they have released over 30 recordings. In the recording studio, as well as on stage, Golden Bough captures the essence and joy of traditional music.

Co-Sponsored by Mount Rushmore Broadcasting. Partial funding is from the Schneider and the Grace Amspoker Funds in Wyoming Community Foundation - Casper, the Wyoming Arts Council through the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wyoming State Legislature, and Natrona County School District No. 1.
